Capacity building :
A high level of competence is always the result of systematic training and at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini we endeavor to do just that. A variety of training programs to cater to the needs of the voluntary sector and elected representatives of people is the hallmark of our mission. Our experts constantly assess the training needs of various sectors and come out with tailor-made training packages. We have been pioneering in providing innovative training programmes for all sectors
The various groups trained through capacity building programmes held at RMP are
MPs & MLAs
The very inspiration behind starting RMP was training & orientation of public representatives and socio-political activists, in order to enhance their capacity for potent leadership & efficient governance. This was the passionate dream of the revered Deendayal Updadhyaya ji & Rambhau Mhalgi ji. The dearth of trained, ethical & responsible leadership in the socio-political sphere is widely felt and RMP strives relentlessly to fill precisely this lacuna.
Methodology & Pedagogy
Leadership in the 21st century requires tremendous dynamism and skill to meet the ever-increasing demand for development. RMP endeavours to not just create efficient & effective leaders but also ethically grounded leaders.
Besides classroom training, there is a pointed emphasis on organic, experiential & transformative learning through activities, workshops, games, thought-provoking case studies, brainstorming on crucial subjects etc
Apart from other aspects, this power-packed programme is designed to prominently impart cutting edge oratorical & public-relations skills, technological & media savvy, as well as office management skills for a public representative.

The important role of Panchayats in rural governance and socio-economic development has been recognized since the 1950s. With the rise in expenditure on programmes of social welfare and inclusion, there is an urgent need to strengthen the Panchayats, as they are vital to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the people, management of local institutions is improved and accountability is enhanced. There is a dire need to provide the Panchayat members with adequate technical and administrative support, to strengthen their infrastructure and e-enablement, promote devolution, improve their functioning (regular democratic meetings of the Panchayat) proper functioning of the standing committees, voluntary disclosure and accountability of the Gram Sabha, proper maintenance of accounts, etc. The Government of India launched the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA) in 2013, against the pretext of the barriers faced by the Panchayats to function smoothly.

We at RMP feel that enhancement of capacities and effectiveness of the Panchayats and the Gram Sabha will enable democratic decision-making and accountability in Panchayats and promote people’s participation. It will also help strengthen the institutional structure for knowledge creation and capacity building of the Panchayats, promote devolution of powers and responsibilities to Panchayats according to the spirit of the Constitution. It will help with the effective functioning of the Gram Sabha as the basic forum of the people’s participation, transparency and accountability within the Panchayat system. It is also observed that different districts have different needs and priorities and therefore region-specific planning and implementation will be the most efficient way to achieve specific targets.

We look at several issues and shortfalls faced by the Gram Panchayat Members that affect their efficiency and the smooth functioning of the operations within the institution. RMP has been successfully organising training programmes for Gram Panchayat Members to help them improve on their skills and manage the administrative tasks responsibly.

Some of the themes that we discuss are as follows:

  • Counselling and Communication Skills
  • Gram Panchayat Members’ roles and responsibilities
  • Work Culture
  • Administrative work skills
  • Capacity building
  • Technical training
  • Personality Development
  • Planning and Management at district and village levels

Leadership manifests itself through individuals from all walks of life in various situations, not just in the topmost echelons/ranks/circles of any enterprise in any sphere. Competence & skills gained through appropriate training is becomes necessary to be able to show situational leadership.

The role of the decentralised organisational unit of a political party is crucial not just when a party is in Opposition but also when it is in power. Any party is known by its karyakartas & their functioning & conduct. He or she is the very face of the party.

Grassroots democracy that presupposes an informed & enlightened citizenry warrants constant vigilance & continuous public awareness & education. Party workers and activists being at the cutting edge or of the interface between the Government and the citizenry, their role is vital in communicating and coordinating the developmental works of the government in line with the ideology & overall philosophy of the party. Here, understanding of the subject matter of development/governance, procuring & conveying information of schemes & policies and ensuring their reach to maximum number of beneficiaries, thorough internalisation of the party organisational structure, skill in promoting achievements of the party through various channels including traditional, digital & social media is of the essence.

RMP caters to this very need, besides giving the political workers a wholesome understanding of the work-culture of the party as well as solid grounding in ideology. It facilitates capacity building in election management & preparation and personality development of the karyakartas.

Training & orientation of socio-political activists & workers, for enhancing their capabilities is one of the chief rationale of RMP in line with the vision of late Deendayal Updadhyaya ji & Rambhau Mhalgi ji. The crisis of trained, ethical & responsible activism & leadership in the political sphere is widely felt and RMP strives passionately to fill precisely this lacuna.

There is generally a heavy demand on the time and attention of modern legislators. To manage these demands efficiently a public representative invariably needs one or more assisting personnel.

The exponentially rising yearning for development among the citizenry, coupled with the increasing technical & complex nature of governance and legislative duties in the 21st century,  have made -these demands more acute.  This has made the role of highly effective political assisting personnel ( Personal assistants ) absolutely indispensable. They need to be not just highly skilled & quick-footed but also supremely articulate & technologically savvy. They must be have a good understanding of the party of the representative, its history, structure & ideology

We at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini understand with precisely the pivotal & critical difference which effective assisting personnel can make to the smooth functioning of the public representatives.

Our near-perfect training programme is designed to prominently impart cutting edge skills in communication & public-relations skills, technological & media savvy, training in parliamentary functioning & various legislative tools, capabilities for reference compilation, documentation & correspondence, expertise & competence in managing funds  & facilities at the representative’s disposal, time & stress management skills, etiquettes & protocols, as well as office management skills for personal/political assistants of a public representative.

Government officials & PSUs

India, being a developing country with limited development of private sector & relative absence of an ethos & culture of free-enterprise, still follows a largely state-led development model.

Although the reach & capacity of the state is found to be inadequate in many cases & at many places, the government is indispensable in the lives of the citizenry. The well-being & prosperity is directly dependent on the capacity of the government to deliver goods and services.

In the governmental sphere, training is more crucial due to its inherently legalistic rule-bound & procedure-oriented work-culture. Leadership qualities need to manifest themselves in various situations & competence & skills gained through appropriate training can be potently deployed.

RMP endeavours to not just inculcate efficient & effective leadership but also ethical leadership in the government officials.

Besides classroom training, there is a pointed emphasis on organic, experiential & transformative learning through activities, workshops, games, thought-provoking case studies. Apart from other aspects, this power-packed programme is designed to prominently impart cutting edge oratorical & public-relations skills, technological & media savvy, time & stress management skills, as well as office management.

India, being a developing country, faces multi-faceted challenges of all-round development. There are various limitations in the reach & capacity of the state/government. Many of these are inherently structural that necessitate a different parallel approach to the various developmental tasks. Moreover it is found that the functioning of the state officials being impersonal, formal, legalistic & rule-bound tends to be secretive, non-transparent, inaccessible, over-cautious & even status quoist.

To cope with the skyrocketing modern-day demands of development, it becomes necessary to have do away with the bureaucratic red-tapism & adopt a more humane, personalised, passionate approach to dealing with the target/beneficiaries of development. This is where NGOs & SHGs come in. Moreover, through NGOs a more meaningful, wholesome bottom-up development can be brought about through people’s participation.

However the subject-matter & means of development are growing increasingly complex with scientific-technological advancement, necessitating state-of-the-art training & capacity building of the NGO personnel.

RMP caters to this very need.

Leadership manifests itself through individuals from all walks of life in various situations, not just in the topmost circles of any enterprise in any sphere. Competence & skills gained through appropriate training is becomes necessary for leadership to be able to manifest itself appropriately. Training & orientation of social activists & workers, for enhancing their capabilities is one of the chief rationale of RMP in line with the vision of late Deendayal Updadhyaya ji & Rambhau Mhalgi ji. The crisis of quality leadership & activism that is trained, ethical & responsible in the social sector is widely felt and RMP strives passionately to bridge this very chasm/gap.

Various aspects covered in this training are :

  • Understanding of the subject matter of development/governance,
  • Understanding the work-culture of the government offices and bureaus,
  • CSR, its background & associated legal provisions, requisite paperwork
  • Reporting, Documentation, Budgeting
  • Project proposal writing
  • Project presentation
  • Coordination between NGOs & companies for CSR funds
  • Office management
  • Matters related to the Charity Commissioner
  • Managing accounts & finances
  • Computer & internet skills
  • Handling digital & social media, Publicity & Promotion
  • Personality development of the voluntary workers

Education is an important factor in the economic and social development of any country. India has always focused on improving the literacy rate among its population and even today the central and state governments run many programs to promote Primary and Higher Education in the country. Both the laypersons and professional educators firmly believe that the impact of an educational programme largely depends on the quality of teachers as they interpret, imbibe and transmit knowledge and intellectual traditions from one generation to another. Quality education can be accomplished through competent efforts of well qualified and effective teachers. Depending on the demands of the generation, the goals and objectives of every educational programme change rapidly. These demands have a direct influence on the educational system.

In a developing country like India, it is the teacher’s responsibility to make the students competent enough to make real education possible to them by improving educational standards remarkably. At Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, we understand what a mammoth task this can be for the teachers and hence we provide training sessions for pioneering education trust and capacity building programmes.

We look at several issues and shortfalls, faced by teachers that affect their efficiency and the students’ ability to grasp knowledge. With the training resource teams, RMP has been successfully organising training programmes for primary and higher education teachers to help them improve their teaching skills.

Some of the themes that we discuss are as follows:

  • Counselling and Communication skills
  • Teachers’ roles and responsibilities
  • Work Culture
  • Constructivism
  • Various Skills of Teaching
  • Personality Development
  • Stress Planning and Management
  • Evaluation and Assessment of Today’s Teachers
