What is the nature of the training programmes and research conducted at RMP? RMP conducts need-based training programmes, which are participative in nature. It provides modern accomodation facilities and seminar equipments. RMP conducts three types of research activities, which includes on the spot unbiased research and its publications. It awards fellowships to journalists. Lastly it also awards residential fellowships to researchers. Who conducts the training programmes at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini? Prabodhini has empanelled about 70 resource persons from diverse backgrounds who are either academicians or management experts on social issues. All these persons are consulted before finalising any assignment. Since the most noteworthy aspect of HR strategy in Mhalgi Prabodhini is tailor-made and need based training, every care is taken to alter the contents of a training programme to make it suitable to the needs of the participants. Besides some members of our directorial staff also conduct certain training programmes. What are the fees charged for the training programmes? Prabodhini believes that our training programmes should offer the best at the least possible price, since we also deal primarily with the NGOs that are known as non-profit making organisations. Hence, the fee structure is prepared in such a manner that any activist/social worker at the grass root level, working for the down trodden people, should be able to afford the same. Currently our charges are inclusive of food, accommodation charges and training fees. However, this fee structure is not applicable for those who do not belong to any NGO. Can any organisation avail the services of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini for their training programmes? Who can benefit from these programmes? Yes, of course. Since the objective of Mhalgi Prabodhini is empowering the activists/social workers, our resources and facilities are available to one and all that are working for the society. Moreover, people can approach RMP with their own ideas. Social activists, journalists, women's activists, students and environmental activists can benefit from these programmes. What are the training facilities offered to corporates at RMP? RMP provides 3-star facilities to corporates for conducting seminars and workshops, which includes plush accomodation, food, recreation and meditation. Companies that have regularly availed of our facilities till now include Essar Oil, i-Flex Solutions, Tata Group, Excel Industries and Akruti Nirman. What does your logo signify? The logo of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini signifies the importance of being a self-made personality. The message of the logo is that while training for the purpose of shaping one's talents and sharpening one's skills is extremely important, the limitations of the same should be borne in mind. Even after undergoing an elaborate training programme, one cannot achieve his/her goals unless he/she decides to actively implement the same. Atma Deepo Bhava, means, “you be the light”, ie, one has to find his or her path on his own. Gautam Buddha delivered this message to his disciples. At RMP the right training and guidance is available for such seekers. Our logo depicts an unflinching flame of this innate passion for learning, further learning and ultimately self-realisation. The logo includes a man and a flame. Do you have any branches? Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini does not have any branches as such, however, the establishment of Mhalgi Prabodhini through its various offshoots operates from three different centers in Mumbai, Uttan - Bhayander (district Thane) and Pune. Basically, Shri Mhalgi was a social worker, who had devoted some precious years of his youth for the cause of the society. As is the common knowledge, Prabodhini is a registered body under the Societies and Trusts Act. Being a Public Charitable Trust we are entitled to accept donations. Prabodhini mobilises its resources mainly through donations coming from the public. In addition to this, some of our programmes get funding from certain funding organisations and at times even the Government. Besides, we also generate income from our activities like corporate training facilities. What is the relationship of Mhalgi Prabodhini with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)? Prabodhini is an independent academic institution enjoying perfect functional autonomy. However, ideologically we are related to both the RSS and the BJP. Late Shri Mhalgi was both a Member of RSS and also the BJP and hence it is quite natural that an institution established in his memory has an unmistakable ideological identity. However, being an academic institution run on thorough professional lines, we welcome people with different ideologies and at no point of time, partisan considerations ever play any role in our decision making. Several prominent personalities belonging to ideological groups opposed to that of RSS, have graced our dais on a number of occasions in the past. |
