Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini

Of all the crises that humanity is facing, the gravest, as all would agree, is the LEADERSHIP CRISIS. Time and again, we find ourselves in the grip of the same. It is almost omnipresent. A serious dearth of "leaders", in the truest sense of the term is reflected not only in the contemporary political scene, but is felt practically in every walk of life, be it academics, culture, literature, social service or sports. We need leaders who will lead the masses and not prefer to be led by them.

In order to re-establish the phenomenon of activist-turned-leader, it is necessary that individual activists are groomed for leadership, their talents shaped and their abilities nurtured with the help of training and orientation. Many experts have contemplated over the issue of leadership crisis. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, a visionary and one of the principal thinkers of the nationalist school of thought, had conceived the idea of an academy for socio-political activists.

However, before Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay could translate this idea into reality, he was brutally murdered. After the abrupt and unfortunate departure of Panditji, Mr Rambhau Mhalgi, a prominent political figure from Maharashtra, was convinced about this idea. In this way a concept propounded by two eminent thinker-activists during their lifetime came into existence in the form of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini.

The Prabodhini is an academy for the training and orientation of socio-political activists and a centre for overall public-awakening activities and research projects. It was launched mainly as a memorial of Late Shri Rambhau Mhalgi. It was established in 1982 as a unique Training and Research Academy, primarily aimed at capacity building of voluntary activists and elected representatives of the people. However over the years it has blossomed into a multi-dimensional institute. Apart from training elected representatives, activists, civil servants and journalists, RMP is also engaged in providing conference and accomodation facilities to corporates.

Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini is an autonomous Charitable Trust registered under the Society's Registration act (Registration No. 618 Bom./82) and the Trust Act (Registration No. F - 7863 Bom./82). It also holds an 80 G Certificate (Registration No.: DIT (E)/MC/80-G/1525/2006/2007-2008 dt. 10.05.2007 Valid from 01.04.2007 To 31.03.2010) as well as the Foreign Currency Regulation Act (FCRA No. 083780667).
